Leading Lines Photography

November 11th – November 15th, 2019

 

Objective: The students will explore the effects of leading lines on the viewer and create 3 photographs that have leading lines that highlight the subject matter.

Phase One: Do Now

T will: Day 1:

  •  “The Hook” – Intro PowerPoint about Composition and especially focusing Leading Lines to highlight the subject
  • View a YouTube video about making a Better Composition
  • Ticket out the door: Write a sentence describing what kind of pictures you can take that have leading lines

 

Phase Two – Instructional Scaffolding

Go over Assignment, Brainstorm and class discussion about logistics of finding and creating an image

 

Teacher led Q & A about creating 3 styles of human Portraits

 

Ticket out the door: Write a sentence describing which three styles of portraiture you will turn in photos for?

 

Student assessment: Produce 3 sets of 3 each human portrait

Instructional Strategies & Activities:

T:  (I do) Show students PowerPoint & video, make assignment passes, and provided Photoshop demonstrations

S Will: (You do) Take photographs of at least 3 different styles of portraiture, then move each jpeg to a word document and email it to Mrs. Dorr by Friday.

Student assessment: The student’s final image, and photo rubric

 

 

Phase Four – Practice, Apply or Extend Knowledge

 

Create images, print images, create a collage out of the images, and matt final collage
