Negative Space Tunnel Book Project

October 21st – October 25th, 2019

 

Objective: Students will use their landscape photographs that have been printed in triplicate – they will cut one photograph removing the forground, they will then take the second photograph and cut out the middle ground, the third photograph is left whole, they will layer the foreground, and middlegroun pieces onto the background and create a 3D image of their landscape photograph.

Phase One: Do Now

T will: Day 1:

  •  “The Hook” – Intro PowerPoint with Principle of design, the assignment, then a classroom discussion about how to cut out the foreground, middle ground and layer them on the back ground image to create a 3D image of their landscape photographs
  • Bell work: How do you explain the difference in the foreground, middle ground and back ground of your landscape photograph, why do you think this?
  •  Classroom discussion about how gently cut the images so they are three dimensional
  • Buddy Buzz with your shoulder partner about to layer your images to create the greatest effect of 3D
